By Navila Nahid
As
a postscript,
a rider,
an afterthought,
I am barely
found
in the before.
I am just
a shade
in the back
of your mind.
In the now,
I epitomize,
“out of sight,
out of mind”
until you realize
what you could have done
what you should have done,
to change
a regret.
By then,
the time to choose
slips away
and your mind
must
sip slow,
the taste
of my bitter
after.
