My moods swing
Like a pendulum
On a short, taut string
And the highs,
Like a fever break
At maximal amplitude
Then down, to zero
And I, between the breathes
And the sighs that punctuate
Each point of chemical imbalance,
Find leave, equilibrium
And the resolve to keep on.
