Bear Down

By Josh Dale

Everyone had an issue when

the Berlin Wall went up

boring down into the fragile earth

erecting oppression

down the line.

Here in PA, the frost ceases

around 3’-0” below grade

halfway to death is pretty much

a human once they are birthed

now if only to keep us breathing.
